In the modern day of electronic and digitized sounds, we have forgotten that
older machines are of a mechanical nature, and these machines are prone to worn
and broken mainsprings, gears, shafts, governor springs, and can even accumulate
old grease and oils which are not doing their proper job, instead they can
attract dirt, grit and debris which can wear on moving parts and gearing. We
offer the following motor services.
MOTOR SERVICES
Mainspring Replacements-We can provide replacement of old mainspring(s),
which are broken, which provides no turntable power, and weak springs which
provide sluggish, and quicker loss of turntable power. If you are unable to play
a complete record on a half or full wind-up, you should consider mainspring
replacement.
Some motors have more than 1 mainspring, some machines have 2, 3 and even 4
mainsprings. We require all be changed to reduce the chance that the new
main-spring does not end up breaking the old ones. We will also clean your
motor and re-lubricate, adjust and test. (NOTE: MAINSPRINGS ARE DANGEROUS, NO
SALES OF MAINSRINGS, ONLY INSTALLED IN YOUR MOTOR).

GOVERNOR SPRING REPLACEMENT
Does your turntable run too fast? Does it run uneven speed? Chances are your
governor springs need replaced. Some governors have riveted weights, so weights
will be additional charge. We will remove the governor, replace springs and
weights (if necessary), re-assemble, install and adjust in your motor. Please
note some governors have two or three governor springs. ALL must be replaced to
function properly.
